Hiring An Attorney
Psalm 37:30 - “The godly offer good counsel; they teach right from wrong.”
Before you hire any attorney, you should know that their job is threefold:
- First, the attorney must understand injury law. Specifically, they must know how accident cases work.Without strong legal knowledge, cases suffer. Therefore, experience matters from the start;
- Second, the attorney must explain your case clearly. In other words, they must teach you your options. For example, they should explain risks and timelines. Likewise, they should answer questions honestly. Because of this guidance, you stay informed; and
- Third, the attorney must advocate aggressively. At the same time, they must act with integrity. Most importantly, they must seek fair compensation. This includes pursuing justice at every stage.
The attorneys at Your Christian Law Firm have successfully litigated numerous personal injury cases and gotten sizeable settlements for our clients.
When selecting an attorney, most experts will agree that you’ll be best served by a lawyer who has experience in the courtroom. Even though the majority of personal injury cases settle out of court, the odds of getting a favorable settlement are far greater when the insurance company knows it’s dealing with an attorney who has a proven track record of being confident to take a case all the way to trial rather than settle for less than its full value.

Your Christian Law Firm’s founder, Dean Burnetti, is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in the areas of Civil Litigation and Workers’ Compensation. [Civil Litigation Law includes all types of personal injury cases except when a person was injured at work.] Being Board Certified in Civil Litigation Law and Workers’ Compensation Law makes Dean Burnetti qualified to handle any type of personal injury case with skill and expertise.
While there are over 101,000 attorneys licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, when you take away the inactive members, judges, military personnel who are away, the attorneys who live in other states, etc., there are approximately 72,000 lawyers who are licensed to practice in Florida and who actually live here.
Of those 72,000 attorneys, only 7 percent of them hold any type of Florida Bar Certification. (So, you can see why it’s a big deal to be Board Certified as a legal specialist!)
However, besides Dean Burnetti, only three other attorneys in the State of Florida are double Board Certified in both Civil Litigation and Workers’ Compensation. To be Board Certified in the Sunshine State, an attorney must be evaluated for professionalism and tested for expertise by the Florida Bar, the governing body for all members of the legal community. The Florida Bar only allows attorneys who had successfully completed the difficult Board Certification testing requirements to call themselves “experts” in a particular field. Moreover, the Florida Bar has a strict policy regarding Board Certified attorneys maintaining their certification status, in that they must be pass a reevaluation process every five years.
Having an experienced trial lawyer on your side allows you the flexibility of being able to negotiate from a position of strength. Most people don’t realize that the vast majority of attorneys don’t actually spend any time in front of juries.
The attorneys at Your Christian Law Firm have won trial verdicts in Hardee County, Hernando County, Highlands County, Hillsborough County, Pasco County, and Polk County.
Your Christian Law Firm’s founder, Dean Burnetti, has personally built a reputation of excellence as a trial lawyer, not only with his clients, but among judges, peers, insurance companies, and even the defense attorneys who he works to defeat.
